You may dance and/or take notes in any class you wish. This includes the Starz, Junior, Teen and Senior classes, as well as your own
special teacher
classes.

Teachers please note that the Junior Ballroom is open to students over the age of 11 with less dance experience.
IF QUOTA IS REACHED BEFORE CUT-OFF DATE, SUBSEQUENT WORKSHOP ENTRIES WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED.
Observers are allowed with paid students only and must not be studio owners,
teachers or dancers. The fee for observers is $35. Observers may observe in
the Junior, Teen & Senior Ballrooms only. PLEASE NOTE: Any teacher
attempting to register as an assistant teacher, student or observer will be
required to pay the teacher’s fee or will be asked to leave. The number of
observers allowed in ballrooms is limited. If limit is reached prior to the
convention, observer bands will not be sold at the door. The fee for Starz
observers is $20.
Please make sure all dance bags are kept against the wall and out of the
dancers’ way to avoid any injuries. If you are in need of first aid, please
see a West Coast Dance Explosion staff member. All students must wear
cover-ups outside the ballroom area. Also, please respect both hotel
property and staff. Be courteous to other hotel guests by keeping the noise
level to a minimum in your rooms as well as in hallways. No food allowed in
the ballrooms at any time.
All dancers 15-years old and under who are registered at the hotel must be
accompanied by a chaperone of legal age.
Video cameras are absolutely prohibited at all times during the convention. Still photos are permitted, however. Breakdown DVD’s of all work taught at
the convention will be available for purchase by all registered convention
attendees.
West Coast Dance Explosion wristbands must be worn by all teachers, students
and observers at all times. Anyone without a band will be denied entry into
the ballroom. Full tuition must be paid for lost wristbands!
All registrations are non-refundable. No Exceptions! Pre-registration is
strongly recommended. Space is limited, so we cannot guarantee registration
on the first morning of the convention. Please contact the West Coast Dance
Explosion office prior to the convention to confirm space availability.
NO PERSONAL CHECKS ACCEPTED AT THE DOOR.

Regional scholarships may be redeemed by attaching the scholarship
certificate to the workshop registration form. Photocopies of the year-long
scholarship are acceptable.
The original is required for single convention
scholarship.
All registrations must be submitted on
official West Coast Dance Explosion
workshop registration forms (photocopies are acceptable). A list of dancers
attached to the
form is acceptable.
West Coast Dance Explosion and the
convention/ hotel facilities are not
responsible for personal injury or property loss.
If you register by the deadline, you will receive a confirmation letter in
the mail
7 to 10 days prior to the convention.
A confirmation may not be
sent for
registration received 14 days or less
before the convention.
Avoid the Saturday-morning rush! Our convention director will be set up on
Fridays from 7:30pm to 8:30pm at most convention cities. Teachers who have
pre-registered and would like to pick up their convention packets, may do so
at this time. Please turn in your
Master and back-up CD’s for competition
at this time.
WORKSHOP TUITION
Workshop fees and registration must be postmarked three weeks before the
convention to receive discounted tuition (see registration cut-off date
listed next to each city on the inside front cover).

Important Note: Studio discounts are based on students paying FULL PRICE.
Please do not factor in your students who are attending on a free

No substitutions are permitted.
Teachers and students paying FULL price for a West Coast Dance Explosion
workshop,
during the November 2011-May 2012
season, will receive 50% off
their tuition for any additional regional workshop plus one free competition
number.
In cities with three ballrooms, Teen and Senior dancers will take workshop
together in the Senior ballroom.
WCDELITE DANCER PROGRAM & SCHOLARSHIPS
WCDELITE DANCER PROGRAM
Several wcdelite dancer titles in the Mini, Junior, Teen, and Senior age divisions will be awarded in each regional city. Regional winners will be
chosen by the WCDE faculty. Winners will be eligible to compete at the
Finals for the National Title.
ELIGIBILITY
Dancers must be registered for entire workshop. Once you have won in one
regional city, you are not eligible for wcdelite dancer in another city.
However, you may still audition for other scholarship awards.
As of January
1, 2012 Mini contestants must be 7 to 9 years old, Junior contestants must
be 10 to 12 years old, Teen contestants must be 13 to 15 years old, and
Senior contestants must be 16 years old or older.
Important Rule! 2011 National wcdelite dancer champions
are not eligible to audition for
title for one year, even if they have moved up to a
higher age division.
AWARDS
Each winner will receive a regional award plaque, a year long scholarship
and free workshop tuition to the National Finals in
Las Vegas. Winners
attending the Finals
will perform in the faculty show & Gala,
choreographed by the West Coast
Dance Explosion Faculty.
CONVENTION
AND STUDIO SCHOLARSHIPS
We are proud to offer an array of scholarships at our West Coast Dance
Explosion conventions to further the training and education of aspiring
young dancers. We will hold auditions in all cities, so get out there and
work it! Please be advised that you must attend both days of the convention
to be
eligible for scholarship awards. You must attend all of your classes during
the weekend. If you have previously won in the same age division, you may
not audition for that same scholarship. You may audition for other
scholarships you have not won.

Mini, Junior, Teen, and Senior categories in each city.
Note: Convention and Studio Scholarships must be used within one (1) year of
the date of your audition. National scholarships must be used for Las Vegas
2012. May not be used for regionals.
