Performing at the Gala, with the WCDElite Dancers, will be none other than American Idol: Season 6 winner- Jordin Sparks! This unbelievable singer/songwriter/actress is sure to bring down the house!! Good times!

Thank you Long Beach, CA for a SPECTACULAR convention and competition this past weekend. The dancers were absolutely stunning! Tons of talent!! It was a wonderful end to our 20th anniversary season, and now we are excited to turn our attention to preparing for the Final Showdown 2016 in Las Vegas! Hope to see you there this summer! WCDE is thrilled to announce Joey Pizzi will be teaching Musical Theatre in Orlando. We are excited to welcome this talented artist back to the West Coast Dance Explosion family! Here is a little bio:
Joey Pizzi is an award-winning choreographer with an extensive background creating dances for both stage and screen, working alongside some of the biggest talents in the entertainment industry. He is thrilled to be coming back to Orlando after recently being on location there, choreographing the newest Walt Disney World international commercial promo titled “The Musical“. Prior to that, Joey was in London working with Director/Choreographer Rob Marshall filming the Oscar nominated Disney feature Into the Woods. He previously worked for Mr. Marshall as his Associate Choreographer on the films: Nine, Annie, and Chicago, the latter which he also appeared in the role of Bernie in Cell Block Tango and was honored with an American Choreography Award for Outstanding Choreography.
Some of Joey’s other movie-musical credits include: Burlesque (Choreographer-Astaire Award nomination, Dance Tracks Magazine Award), Dreamgirls (Associate Choreographer-Choreography in Media Honor), Hairspray (Associate Choreographer-Choreography in Media Honor), Rock of Ages (Dance Supervisor) and Lucky Stiff (Choreographer).
On Broadway, Joey was Choreographer for the critically acclaimed and multi-Tony Award winning play The Nance starring Nathan Lane. Prior to that, on stage, Joey worked on 12 other Broadway shows as well as several Off-Broadway (La Mama, NYTW), Regional (Papermill Playhouse, Old Globe Theatre) and “Encores!” presentations serving as either Choreographer, Associate Choreographer, Dance Captain and/or Performer.
Joey is very proud to have choreographed the world famous Radio City Rockettes for their appearance on ABC-TV’s Broadway Under the Stars, and he has additionally contributed choreography for several network and cable series, awards shows, music videos, and national commercials. He has also worked extensively in the industrial world and currently serves as Choreographer for State Farm National Conventions, which have original scores by Tony winning composer Jason Robert Brown.

We loved dancing with you in classes and watching all of the wonderful performances in the competition:-) Hat’s off to all of the teachers who train and give so much to these dancers. Thanks Chicago for an AWESOME WCDE weekend! The talent was just phenomenal! Congrats to all who participated in the competition and workshop. The performances were brilliant, and the passion and energy in the classes were off the hook. Keep up the good work and we hope hope to see you at Nationals, or next year in Chicago!!
